Academic Quality

We work hard to put together an excellent academic programme of plenary and featured sessions, topical panels, workshops and forums, but the heart of any academic conference is, of course, the parallel sessions during which the majority of delegates present their papers, then engage in discussion and receive feedback from their peers.

The responses indicate that consistent high standards are maintained during this part of the conference. 92% of respondents to the feedback survey said they were satisfied with the quality of the parallel sessions, with 24% reporting them to be "very good". 46% responded that they were "good" and 22% stated "fair".

Networking Opportunities

Human interaction is at the source of all value creation, and our academic connections provide us with a community of knowledge. Conferences provide an excellent opportunity for academics to expand the personal and professional networks necessary for a successful career.

IAFOR's conveniently located conference venue in Honolulu offers an ideal environment for building these networks. Delegates have numerous opportunities to connect with their peers – over freshly brewed coffee during breaks, at forum discussions, in the sessions and workshops, at the cultural or side events, over lunch, at the evening dinner out, or on one of the conference tours.

Based on feedback received after the conference, 86% of respondents said that they were satisfied with the networking opportunities offered by the event, with 24% responding the networking opportunities were "very good", 38% describing them as "good" and 24% saying they were "fair".

Hawaii has served as a rich crossroads of peoples and cultures, and beyond its indigenous Pacific island roots has strong European and Asian historical influences. Our conference venue, near Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, is situated on Oahu, a tropical island abundantly rich in flora and fauna, dramatic in landscape, and surrounded by turquoise seas.

90% of respondents said they were satisfied with the conference venue, the Hawaii Convention Center, which is bright, modern and conducive to networking.

Located within walking distance of Waikiki, the Hawaii Convention Center is quite simply unique. Open to the outdoors, with terraces, lanais, courtyards, waterfalls and fishponds, this remarkable facility combines the latest in cutting-edge technology with authentic Hawaiian ambience.

90% of respondents to the feedback survey were satisfied with the quality of the conference venue, with 58% responding that it was "very good", 20% responding that it was "good" and 12% stating that it was "fair".
